Ragged But Right is a super calm, absolutely beautiful Standardbred gelding that is directly off the track. He raced as a pacer in harness racing all over the country and it was finally time to retire, and he was sent to us to be in our Standardbred Rehoming Program.

Ragged came from an absolutely fantastic harness racing barn where he was loved and treated like the amazing athlete he is! Because of his fabulous history, this boy adores being loved on. He is great for the farrier, stands tied or cross-tied all day, leans into grooming like it's his favorite activity, enjoys his baths, and is just generally happy to be around people. He gets along great in a mixed herd (and isn't too obsessed about the mares), is an easy keeper, and is always willing to meet you at the gate!

Ragged is beginning his new career under saddle. He is already broke to drive, and would love to continue! Ragged will also be unstoppable under saddle. He has taken to riding extremely fast so far and by the time he has cleared our training program, he is going to be the horse of a lifetime for someone very special.

Lucky 7 offers a Standardbred Rehoming Program for owners to safely rehome their retiring racehorses in a way that acknowledges the value of their horses. Off-the-track Standardbreds come with a lot of excellent handling and care, and are extreme athletes. When they are working, they are all “business mode”. When their harness is off, however, they show their goofy personalities! Every Standardbred has their unique set of goofy quirks - some like to twirl their heads, others like to stick their tongues out, and even more like to wiggle their lips!
