Natsu
Grade Gaited Gelding 14.2hh, 7 years old
Adoption Fee: $2,000
Natsu is a talented young horse that is looking for his new person to take him on all kinds of adventures! He has been on many many miles of trails across the country and he has a very smooth and easy gait, as well as a smooth trot and canter.
Natsu has energy to go, and the buttons of a well-trained horse. He is not for a beginner rider, and will require an intermediate to advanced rider because he is a forward and sensitive guy, but also extremely well-behaved.
He is a pro at trailering and camping, and knows when he's working and when it's rest time. He isn't spooky, but he needs guidance from his rider the first time he's at a new place until he falls into the groove of things.
Natsu's History:
Natsu came all the way from Sexton, Tennessee, where he had been in a rough spot. He and his brother Happy were skinny and scared studs with nowhere to go. The Arabian Feedlot and Auction Horse Team Rescue group helped rescue him and then asked us to take them and soon after, they made the trip to Minnesota. After being gelded, some amazing volunteers worked with them through the winter and got them confident. Natsu's brother, Happy, was trained to ride and now is living his best life with his favorite girl. Though he was the taller of the brothers, he was also younger and more timid so we gave him more time to just be a horse. He then entered Lucky 7 Horse Rescue's "2024 Battle of the Best Training Competition" with trainer Lisa Gebhart. She had 60 days to work with him, then they competed at the event and brought home the first place ribbon! Though she did an absolutely fantastic job with him, she knew he wouldn't be ready for just anyone, so she took him and rode him all over the county on many different trails for a year. Now he is ready to find his person and have many adventures with them!
To follow his past training, it's as easy as looking up "#NatsuBBTC" on Facebook.
