"Cease Fire" or Ceasar, is a super loveable Standardbred gelding that came to Lucky 7 Horse Rescue directly off-the-track! He has been well-cared-for his whole life and is now transitioning into a riding career now that he is done racing!

Ceasar retired from harness racing simply because he wasn't fast enough. There are lots of races for 2 and 3 yr olds, but once they are 4 or older, the races are much faster and some horses just aren't fast enough anymore. 

Ceasar took to riding the same as many other Standardbreds... as if he'd been doing it his whole life! He will walk, trot, pace, and canter under saddle! Unlike some Standardbreds that need signifigant strengthening to hold a canter, Ceasar is a natural! He could do just about anything! He is still young, and he's a healthy boy!

Lucky 7 offers a Standardbred Rehoming Program for owners to safely rehome their retiring racehorses in a way that acknowledges the value of their horses. Off-the-track Standardbreds come with a lot of excellent handling and care, and are extreme athletes. When they are working, they are all “business mode”. When their harness is off, however, they show their goofy personalities! Every Standardbred has their unique set of goofy quirks - some like to twirl their heads, others like to stick their tongues out, and even more like to wiggle their lips!
