Carson is the unicorn of the horse world! He is every bit of a Standardbred with his extremely calm demeanor, willing attitude, and extreme talent that had him racing on the track. He retired perfectly healthy and sound and transitioned seamlessly into being a riding horse. Just a couple weeks after his last race, Carson went to the Minnesota Horse Expo to represent the Standardbred breed with Lucky 7 Horse Rescue and represent he did! Not only did Carson handle the extremely busy and otherwise stressful environment well, he did it with a no-care attitude and took everything in stride like it was nothing new. If that isn't impressive enough, Carson had his first ride in the middle of the expo! His first ride is videoed, and it's about as uninteresting as a ride can be. He rode off like he'd been being ridden all his life! He tackled his first walk, trot, pace, and canter all within a quick unplanned thirty minute ride in a new environment and a completely new arena that he hadn't even been in before previously.

He has since been ridden a handful of times with no change in that carefree, calm, confident attitude. He has expanded to riding on trail, and absolutely loved it!

Carson has a personality to die for! He is super sweet, adores hugs and will literally wrap himself around you (without smothering you or running you over!) or just inch his head closer until you find that suddenly, his head is in your arms and he is fast asleep. It takes a lot to get this guy to spook and he has yet to do anything even remotely dangerous. He would be great for all kinds of riding, even the much desired therapy horse!
